Educational/Industry Experience Background
I am a State of Florida Licensed General Contractor since 2014, Building Contractor since 2001 and Roofing Contractor since 2009 and a State of Georgia Licensed General Contractor since 2009. I have held the positions of Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Vice-President of Business Development and Estimating and President of a commercial construction company. My experience includes delivering federal, commercial, educational, institutional, and religious facilities utilizing multiple different project delivery methods including design-bid-build, design-build, and construction management at risk. My responsibilities have encompassed all phases of construction including, but not limited to, design and specification scope review, pre-construction budgeting, cost estimating, subcontractor solicitation and selection, submittal, shop drawing and product data review and processing, development and execution of contractor means and methods, field coordination, project scheduling, owner/architect/engineer/contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination and scheduling, owner/architect/engineer communications, development of pay requests, and project closeout.
From April 2012 until April 2022, I served as a board member and two-time past chairman of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB). The primary focus of the CILB is to regulate (including discipline) all licensed contractors in the State of Florida.
In June 2022, I was appointed to the University of North Florida, College of Computing, Engineering and Construction Management Advisory Board.
I am a Windstorm Insurance Network WIND Certified Umpire and Certified Appraiser.
I am a voting member of five American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) committees.
I have testified in twenty-one depositions, three trials and one arbitration.
