Other Relevant Information Relating to Ability to serve as an Umpire
I have been heavily involved in the Appraisal process since 1985 as both an Appraiser and Umpire. However, since 2006, I primarily focus on being selected by Appraisers representing both Carriers and Policyholders to serve as an unbiased Umpire. I have been selected as Umpire on over 1,200 Appraisals with numerous appointments by State and Federal courts.
During my career I adjusted all lines of property insurance claims from basic homeowners to multi-million-dollar commercial property losses. I managed the Property Claims department of a large Third-Party Administrator for Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London, and supervised over 30,000 catastrophe losses from Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Jeanne, and Ivan. I am a Past President of the WIND Network and continue to serve on the Board of Directors. I am also an instructor for the WIND Network’s Basic and Advanced Umpire Certification classes and have been for over 20 years. I co-wrote and present the Appraiser Certification class as well. I have been qualified as an expert witness in the Circuit Courts of Orange, Brevard, Seminole, and Lee Counties.
